Adult Tennis Activities
South End Racquet and Health Club offer a wide variety of tennis activities for everyone in the family. From weekly workouts and round robins to men and women’s league play, as well as a wide range of tournaments and social events. Whether you’re a social player just looking for a friendly game, or a competitive player looking for some serious competition, South End has what you’re looking for.
You can enjoy your court time for 90 minutes by reserving your court ahead of time or drop–in play also. South End’s tennis professionals are all certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association and are always available for private lessons, or to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you on the tennis court.
Weekly Tennis Activities
(only for club members)
Monday Nights Doubles: Held every Monday night from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Play consists of men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, and is open to players of all levels and abilities. Monday Night Doubles is held on courts 1–6. Food and drinks are also served. Participating tennis members meet and sign up at Court 1. Small fee applies per player for refreshments and snacks.
Round Robins: Round Robins are held every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM noon. Play consists of men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, and is open to players of all levels and abilities. Players need to sign up at the tennis information desk next to Court 1.
Challenge Court: Challenge Court is held on Court 1 every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM noon. Play consists of I set of men’s, women’s or mixed doubles. Challenging teams must sign up at the tennis information desk and supply
a can of new balls.
Tennis Leagues
Marine League: Ladies doubles featuring teams from private clubs as well as public facilities throughout the South Bay area. Matches are held during the week in the mornings.
USTA League: Play is seasonal and consists of both men’s and women’s leagues as well as a mixed league. Includes both singles and doubles. All matches are played on weekends. Must be a tennis member and also have a current USTA card (available through USTA online).
Golden Boys: Men’s senior doubles league for ages 50 and older. Matches are held on Friday mornings and include teams from both private clubs and public parks.
